Flash cards are cards bearing information to improve a child’s photographic memory, encyclopedic knowledge, vocabulary and speed-reading abilities through repetition.
It is ideal to flash cards to your child at least twice a day, evenly spaced out throughout the day.
You can flash cards to your child for 5-10 minutes per session. The key is to stop flashing before your child gets restless or shows signs of wanting to stop the session, so you will always keep him/her inquisitive.
No. Show only images or only words on a flash card. This will prevent confusion as a child sees each image on the flash card as a snapshot. By having both images and words on the flash card, a child may associate the object as being the image and the word together.
You need to flash the cards as fast as humanly possible.
Yes. A child’s right hemisphere of the brain is very strong, hence he/she is able to absorb information like a sponge. Moreover, with fast flashing speed, the cards capture the child’s attention and trains him/her to improve his/her focus and concentration.
You can flash cards to your child from as young as 3 months old. Start with the black-and-white cards first because a very young child can only see red, black and white colours. You can start to show more colours to your child once he crosses 4 months old.
Yes, it is safe to flash cards to your child electronically, because nowadays the refresh rates of screens are so high that children will not see “blinking” of the screens associated with lower refresh rates found in older screens.
Education is always evolving, and it is important to constantly engage a child to stimulate his/her brain as much as possible during their formative years.
We have a team of educators and artists who are always coming up with fresh ideas and illustrations to continuously improve a child’s left- and right-brain abilities.
You have a selection of 3 options on the speed of the flash cards to show your child.
Currently, our flash cards are mainly in 2 languages – English and Chinese – to improve bilingualism in your child. Plans are in the pipeline to introduce more languages so your child can be trained to be multilingual.
There is a Mathematics component in our app where you can select and show your child random or ordered dots, so that he/she is exposed to quantity. A young child treats numbers as symbols only; he/she needs to be exposed to quantity – hence the introduction of the dots to be taught the concept of quantity.
At the end of each session, you have the option to proceed to a mini-quiz where you can gauge whether your child is able to understand and remember the flash cards that were shown to him/her earlier.
If you are a paid subscriber, you will have unlimited access to our library of flash cards at any time. If you are not a paid subscriber, you will have access to one title for you to try out our app and give your child exposure to these flash cards.
